Our Story

We bought the property in November 2022 and immediately saw the potential for a cabin. Jonny’s dad is an architect and drew up plans for The Lodge. We had one stipulation: no trees were to be felled; it had to fit in amongst the 100-year-old trees. Therefore, due to all the roots, it needed special screw foundations. The cabin was built directly on top of the screws, and only a few branches needed to be cut to fit the cabin into the northeast-facing plot.

From the very beginning, it was important to us that The Lodge be as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible, without compromising on comfort or luxury. We wanted to prove that thoughtful design and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.

It took 18 months to build, with endless help from friends and family. We welcomed our first guests in December 2024, following 18 months of on-site construction of the cabin.

We’ve designed The Lodge to provide a home away from home — a luxurious retreat where our guests can connect with nature, unwind in comfort, and create lasting memories. Whether it’s the cosy interiors, the lush surroundings, or the personal touches throughout, every detail has been thoughtfully curated.

Our goal is simple: to ensure that every guest leaves feeling refreshed, restored, and already planning their next visit.
